Beginning: Primal Fitness, Year One, Part One

A friend got me started in bodybuilding. A friend in another state, another generation, another class of athletes far more experienced than my own.

He returned to serious training after about one year absence. I need to get moving, too, after the winter hunkered over my keyboard with a whiskey in my blood and my novel in mind. We started together.

At first, I copy it without really understanding why. Hill sprints and pushups, air squats and jump rope, repeat the steps and lunges. He introduced me to the concept of general physical preparedness, which is an athletic approach to the balance of strength, speed, endurance, and flexibility will form a specific sports training center and / or just the ability to live fully and to save his own life must be like the unfortunate occasion arise.

A little back story
I come from a family that runs pretty lean on both sides. We more or less mesoporphic in body type and tend to be on the active side. I grew up playing outdoors, fully concerned about body composition, and was never officially implemented until I took a walk in the college after a boyfriend told me I was fat.

The next decade saw me finish the marathon and half marathon relay, log thousands of walking every day with a beloved Dalmatian, attend a variety of aerobics classes, bike back and forth until I was hit by a car, and even joined the local Gold Gym treadmill.

Although I ended up buying the Night Agriculture and put on some decent muscle as a natural result of hours spent on farm work, training horses, and ride, I cannot remember the dumbbell curl 10 pounds heavier than in many years. I might have been far fitter than the average woman 30 years, United States, but I'm not striking slim or very strong.
